Dead Mans Bones

Ever listened to something that within the first minute you just KNOW it's going to be epic and it's like you're going to have a happiness attack and your body starts to tingle and your eyes just might start to water?

This is Dead Man's Bones.

I bought the self titled album featuring a very morose looking Silverdale Conservatory of Music Children's Choir. The cover looking like a goulish family portrait.

The sound effects used in this album are intriguing enough as it is but, the songs. Wow.

'In the room where you sleep' is like the 60's spoke to The Horrors at a party got drunk and then got jiggy with it. Oh yes, it's possible. Even if the 60's won't call The Horrors later and The Horrors cry over the phone to their friends for a week.

Analogy gone too far?

This album is so well put together, the transition from song to song fits so well and the children's choir manage to sound like they just non-chalantly joined a band. No biggie. Just 20 or so extra members.

Anyways, they have a track on rotation at FBI (94.5) called Pa Pa Power which is what made me search for them. If you've heard it and you like it, go get it.

The album has charmed the pants off of me.

Also, kudos to them on the interesting video announcing the release date. Be sure to watch it even if it's already here.
